Since I left the children have continued to play their violins regularly and to play at various events.
10 days after I left they played in the Cathedral at Durgapur for a CWM International service.
These are the children playing hymns at the service.
I have been sending them new music every three or four weeks, which under Sanjay and Sumita they have learnt to play and have also played at some of the events.
They were asked to play for th Rotary Club and they also played at the Summer Camp Opening and at other times. Here they are at that.
I shall return to them on September 4th to make it into a string orchestra adding violas and cellow. I am at present raising the money needed for this and so that each child can have an instrument rather than sharing. I will then have a wide range of options I can do with them from an orchestra of 30 players down to solos, duets and quartets etc. I am very much looking forward to the challenge.
My next fundraiser is a 24 music marathon - making music with friends for 24 hours non stop. There will also be a big sheet music sale as well, including recorder, guitar, song books, piano/keyboard/organ, violin, viola.
This will take place 6.00 p.m Friday 2nd August to 6.00 p.m. Saturday 3rd August. refreshments will be available and on the Saturday morning between 10.00 a.m. and 12 noon there will be a "Come and Play" session open to youngsters whether they play or not, to come and make music, some instruments provided.
If you have any questions on the project or want to know more about the Music marathon and sale please contact me.
