Well today, I have a few minutes without a meeting before I get engrossed in arranging more hymns so will give you some more photos of last week.
On the 2nd, the national holiday in the afternoon the children decided it was time for a big basketball match, girls against boys. I have to play as Raja said one rule of the ball I bought is that I must play if it is out. The girls are happy about that as I can shoot baskets quite well. It was a very close match with girls being in the lead a lot of the time, but the lead see-sawed and the boys had just taken the lead when rain stopped play!!!!
A couple of photos from our games. I'm learning the art of having photos taken, let one of the older children take control of the camera. So I have about 50 photos of that activity!
As rain stopped play we moved in upstairs and played some games I organised up there, some based on rhythm and songs that I use in class teaching. Then tiffin time! (snack time)
Sumita dishing out their tiffin. They then made me chai and brought biscuits for me. :)
Sitting having their tiffin break..
Then more games and violin class, a little earlier that day as I was invited by Nita to have dinner with her project team and Hannah who was in from Australia. It was good having others to talk to over a meal. She was here for four days. There is another guest from England coming in this week, Rev Helga Cornal, who is speaking at this weekends Womens Convention, so again I shall have someone to share meals with.
Thursday was another wet day!! especailly 3.30 when al other children come, or are supposed to come.
All children inside.
Children arriving late under umbrellas with parents.
So play and lining up happens under the covered walkways on two sides of the court yard.
Friday was another Hindu holiday. This time the children were up watching the story which is historically told early in the morning at 5.00 a.m. on TV.
I sat with them for about half an hour, I enjoyed the Indian music and dance of much of it but obviously did not understand the story.
Sundays they have asked for time to be able to practice their instruments, so I now sit and supervise a practice time but do not teach a class but will answer any queries or give help if they ask. I thought they ha forgotten as I said after 3.30. It was another horrible wet day so I sat reading a book and eventually at 5.15 a knock on my door could they practice. So many did for between an hour and hour and a half.
Shyamlal and Priyanka still practising when every one else had stopped with Simon who had just put his instrument away.
So some of them practising either on their own, or in small groups.
Saturday night I introduced some of the older ones to the joys of Twister!
