First week back

So am now back, getting into the routine of things again, putting up mosquito net each night and putting it away. The lizards are still coming in and out, the squirrels running across the window sill and up and down the trees outside. The difference now is that everything is very green as we are coming to the end of the rainy season so the view from my window is very different, washing lines moved and place for them to play football.

The only vegetables they are growing at the moment are egg plant/aubergine and some beans. As soon as the rainy season ends they will plant up many crops.

The children put on a programme on Thursday, Teachers Day.

So the room was decorated ready and then Anita was MC for the majority.

All the teachers were welcomed with a Hindi welcome and given presents, this is Mrs Kobiraj being welcomed.

Sanjay played beautifully a song he had heard and had written down the music and practiced it, he has a very good ea. Anita is just holding the music so it didn't blow away, we have to have the fans on. Sanjay and Sumita have worked hard, practising with all the children everyday, they are all playing confidently the music that I left and the new music I sent across every two or three weeks.

We had dancing - this one was very fast at times

Then short verses they had written about teachers and how they help and guide them through life. They all looked beautiful in their best clothes.

More dancing, this time by Anita

A very funny sketch based on a teacher and her class and homework - the not doing of it!!

The boys also danced, it started with Priyanka with them and they did a very energetic dance.

There was much more and many children took part, acknowledging the place teachers take in their lives.

More photos and maybe videos tomorrow but for now back to arranging music and preparing a sermon.
