Saturday filming

Saturday was a day when all 80 children came in as we were doing some more filming for the documentary they are making on the work of the DWFCS.

So on top of the usual violin lessons that I give I gave extra lessons and performances during the day. The older ones were filmed playing under tree in the Bishop's garden in their white and black outfits. Some were astonished at the progress they had made in a month since they were last filmed at the Thanksgiving weekend. We only had one problem - there was a nice breeze - it kept blowing the music off the stands!!

I'm sorry I didn't get any pictures of that part as I was too busy with them playing and organising. All the new little ones were given their uniforms - checked shirt and grey shorts or pinafores. They were measured on the  Monday and the sewing centre had them all ready by Saturday - 30 sets of uniform.

There were races - this was a skipping race and below a kangaroo race
Then they all had to be fed so they all sat in the shade
Sitting waiting with their plates
Lunch being served - even the little ones eat twice as much rice as I do
One of the new little ones was a bit overwhelmed by it all and didn't want to eat his dinner so was happy to be fed by one of the teachers.
The hostel children ate as usual in their dining room.
The teenage hostel children all help in the serving of all the children and most had eaten and gone and I said to Anita "have you had lunch yet?" She said "No" - They have learnt to look after all the others before themselves but still need to be reminded that they should eat as well.

many other classes went on during the day, computer, drawing, usual reading and homework, dance and Taekwondo.  The little ones also playing games that we see in our playgrounds - Oranges and Lemons
And just to add to everything else that was happening it was parent visiting Saturday - this happens every fortnight. So we had families turning up at different times as well.
So here is Priyanka and Priti with their little sister and cousin who had come along.
So a busy tiring day all round and still had an evening lesson to give as well.
