The weekend 26th/27th

Hi

This weekend was quieter than the previous two. After the early start on Saturday for Republic Day, it then went quiet as it was a holiday. I still taught though for three hours and practised songs with them that they needed to learn to sing. Also helped with preparing a tombola game with the DWFCS ladies and then when they had not got enough prizes went out shopping with them, they were looking for useful practical things as well as a few treats that could be won: little plastic containers, soaps, biscuits, shampoo sachets etc and as it was Republic Day weekend there were lots of special offers to be had and they shop very well for the money.

On Sunday I went to the English service here in St Michael's - 7.30 a.m.!! There is no day here when I get a lie in - about 6.30 is the latest. After church and hour and a half on violins, then an hour or so playing basketball with some of the boys, then an hour or so on keyboard and some of the youngsters singing and then to lunch. I had staff coming in just to cook, and serve me lunch as I was the only guest on site at the weekend.

While the children watched a film in the afternoon I spent time knitting the prayer shawl and some time to me.
The children always seem to have something to do, even though they have no electronic gadgets, very few play things, but they are always busy doing something - there is no "I'm bored"

Yesterday the American came back from there 3 day trip to Perulia and Festival of Joy there. I'm beginning to understand the spread of this diocese as it was three hour drive away, therefore the distances the children travelled to take part in the sports day.But the work that is going on, with children and then with the wider communities of their families, God is working here.

In the afternoon the staff all had check up in the clinic with Dr Mike and one or two of the other team. In the evening the children did a Farewell Programme of song, prayer and dance for them - which is what I had been practising with them and we all ended up dancing for half an hour before we had dinner.

Hopefully my computer problem will be solved today and from tomorrow I can put up some more pictures. This is the computer in the library but I can't put my SD card into it so I use my laptop to transfer from SD card to stick that I can put into this computer.
